Common Ground
Basheer Graphic Books is a well-known independent bookstore in Singapore, recognised for its extensive collection of creative and design-focused publications. In an increasingly digital age, physical bookstores face declining foot traffic, making it more important than ever to re-engage the creative community with these spaces.
This led to the development of Common Ground—an initiative envisioned as a community extension of Basheer. Designed to encourage creative exploration through physical books, the space functions as a hybrid: part café, part book club, part creative lounge, and part workshop hub. It offers a place to read, brainstorm, host creative sessions, and connect across disciplines, while allowing visitors to discover and purchase books that inspire them.
Ultimately, Common Ground is a space made by creatives, for creatives.
We've introduced a series of variable logos for Common Ground—each one an adaptable icon that represents different branches of the creative world.

These variations ensure that whether you're a designer, writer, illustrator, or filmmaker, there's a visual identity that feels uniquely yours.
The idea behind these variable logos is to create a flexible visual language that embraces the full spectrum of creativity. In doing so, Common Ground becomes not just a space but a community where every creative can find an icon that resonates with their own craft.
